Sèmè City, Mediawan and TV5Monde launch the “Le Meilleur est à venir” series

TV5MONDE, the emblematic channel of the French-speaking world, has joined forces with Mediawan Africa, a leader in audiovisual production in sub-Saharan Africa, and the Republic of Benin, to launch an original fiction series entitled "Le Meilleur est à Venir" (The Best is Yet to Come). This ambitious project marks a significant turning point in the African audiovisual landscape, with the creation of a daily series comprising 220 episodes of 26 minutes each.

"Le Meilleur est à Venir" stands out as the first daily program aimed at a broad family audience in French-speaking Africa. The series, which explores the lives of students navigating between tradition and modernity, promises to captivate viewers with stories that resonate deeply with new generations. Across its 220 episodes, viewers will follow the evolution of the characters, discovering stories that positively shape the global perception of Africa.

A revolution in the African audiovisual sector

This innovative partnership not only produces a captivating series; it also marks the beginning of a new era for the audiovisual industry in Africa. "The Best is Yet to Come" will make a significant contribution to structuring the sector, generating jobs for several hundred writers, artists and technicians, while training many young emerging talents.

The creative teams of Keewu Production, a producer affiliated to Mediawan Africa, and those of TV5MONDE will work closely with local talent trained in writing workshops supported by the Beninese government. The Beninese government, through Sèmè City, a center of excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship, and the Agence de Développement des Arts et de la Culture (ADAC), will actively accompany this initiative by supporting the training of professionals at all levels - from scriptwriting to production, from directing to post-production.

Sèmè City: an ideal setting for a large-scale project

The new Sèmè City campus, a rapidly expanding ecocity covering over 350 hectares in Ouidah, is the ideal location for this project. The site will serve as the nerve center for the studio, training center and filming locations for the series. The fictional campus of "Le Meilleur est à Venir", set in a green setting on the outskirts of a city rich in history, will add a unique visual dimension to this ambitious production.

Synopsis of the series

In "Le Meilleur est à Venir", five young people from different backgrounds find themselves forced to live together in a villa on an international campus in Africa, while awaiting the delivery of their accommodation at the university campus. This forced cohabitation will lead to explosive situations, impacting not only the students but also the teachers, other students, parents and local residents.

This partnership between TV5MONDE, Mediawan Africa and the Republic of Benin heralds a major transformation in entertainment in French-speaking Africa, underlining Benin's position as a central and dynamic player in the global audiovisual sector.
