The Government of Benin: a team committed to the country’s continued development
The Government of the Republic of Benin embodies the determination to continue the momentum of development that the country has built up in recent years. Following the democratic presidential election of 2026, His Excellency Romuald WADAGNI was sworn in as President of the Republic, before announcing the composition of the government tasked with steering national public policy.
Under the leadership of His Excellency Romuald WADAGNI, President of the Republic, Head of State, Head of Government and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the government team is working to consolidate Benin’s achievements, improve people’s living conditions, enhance the country’s appeal and support its economic, social, cultural and institutional transformation.
Through its actions, the government is pursuing a clear ambition: to build a Benin that is more prosperous, more modern, more inclusive and more open to the world. From infrastructure to education, from health to innovation, from agriculture to tourism, and from culture to security, every ministry contributes to moving the country forward and enhancing its influence.
A government committed to serving the people of Benin
Government action is based on a coordinated approach aimed at addressing the country’s key national priorities. It focuses in particular on promoting sustainable growth, strengthening good governance, developing human capital, improving living standards, modernising public services and harnessing Benin’s economic, cultural and tourism potential.
This structure enables the full range of the State’s capabilities to be mobilised around a shared vision: to continue the country’s development, strengthen citizens’ confidence, offer new opportunities to young people and position Benin as a stable, dynamic and attractive country in West Africa.
